I actually met Ryan way back in 2015 when I was working in the previous property firm before we created Axon. By his own admission, the feeling with that company ๐Ÿค” was not right for him to get started in the property game. Fair enough.

Fast forward to Oct 2020, Ryan and Sarah watched our educational videos, and we commenced the coaching series inside the Axon arena.

Ryan is a RAEME officer, and Sarah is a very accomplished professional in her civilian workplace. They were undertaking the whole MWD(U) thing – Ryan in T’ville and Sarah in CBR. As a high-income DINK couple in their late 20s with no assets, something clicked – they needed to get started on proper wealth creation before other life events took priority. Enter Axon. ๐Ÿ˜Š

During the coaching series, we created a plan based on โ€˜delayed gratificationโ€™. They informed us they had the capacity to save >$4,000 per month. ๐Ÿ‘ This was critical as their cash holdings were less than $20,000, and they had some consumer debt to clearโ€ฆ so a dedicated savings routine over the next 12+ months was the only way they could get started.


Fast-forward again to May 2021 – we found them an investment property that they could secure now and sit on until end-2022. The EOI was submitted, and Ryan and Sarah had a real focus to keep on top of their savings routine. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

* Original Purchase price: $508K (400m2 block and 193m2 house, FULL turn-key)
* Revised Purchase price: $605K (Building price-riseโ€ฆsee notes below)

* Key handover: October 2023
* Same land and build value now: ~$700K+
* Rental income: $545pw


During the end of 2021 through to mid-2022, the building industry went through some VERY tough times. Every client got a price rise in some way, shape or form. To every clientโ€™s credit, they managed their emotions, and we all got through it. This builder did not go under; such is the way when we all band together.

If they threw in the towel, they ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ walked past $100K in capital growth. High-performing officers donโ€™t act like that. Especially when they have a strong and confident partner supporting them!

Now in 2023, Ryan and Sarah are married and living in CBR together. They already have their finance approved for IP#2, which will start the build early in 2024. ๐Ÿคฉ
