Property INVESTMENT Success for Non-ADF couple:

From Mining Town to High-Growth SE QLD Asset

Whilst this is a success story about a non-ADF couple, it will still resonate with all of you!

Blake and Renique first came to Axon in March 2024. Living in Emerald in Central QLD, Blake is a Diesel Fitter and Renique is a Paramedic. Over the past decade, they have been working in the resource and ⛏️ mining sector (a pathway many Veterans take).

Blake and Renique already had a 🏠 property sitting in the market. It was their previous home, bought in 2015 in Mt Isa. Since they relocated in 2020, it’s been IP#1. Unfortunately, because IP#1 was heavily reliant on the mining sector, it did not appreciate in value (even though it was positively geared).

After watching our non-ADF training 📺 videos (yes, we have them!), we created a plan for Blake and Renique to use their good incomes and savings to purchase IP#2 – and no, it was not going to be anywhere near a mining town! With the assistance of the finance broker, we cleaned up their structure, and they closed some 💳 credit cards.

What you’re seeing here is the outcome of Blake and Renique’s ✌️ second investment property. The photos of this house look wonderful!

  • Purchase price: $738K (4/2/2 house, full turnkey)
  • Start of construction: Aug 2024
  • Key handover: April 2025 (including the 4-week Xmas shutdown)
  • Rental income: $610pw
  • Value now: approx. $850K

I’ve included something different this week. You’ll see in the images where this property is located within the master-planned community in SEQLD. It’s walking distance 🚶🏻‍♀️‍➡️ to a future town centre, medical facility, a couple of schools and multiple parks. In our opinion, the growth potential of this property is very strong for many years to come!

Fast forward to now: The Mt Isa property has been sold. Blake and Renique have gone to contract with another IP with Axon (you’ll see that success story in 2026). Blake has started his own business and is now enjoying the 🍇 fruits of his labour. Renique is still loving helping people as a Paramedic.
