Situation: Theyโ€™re living in Brisbane, Luke was in the Army, with 15 years under his belt. He was attempting to transfer to the RAAF. Anika is a Registered Nurse, specialising in Midwifery. Theyโ€™re married with no kids, yet โ€˜family planningโ€™ is underway.

As a DINK couple, their finances and borrowing capacity were solid. However, we needed to run the numbers as a โ€˜single income + 1 childโ€™ scenario. Understandably, this changed things in a negative direction. โฌ…๏ธ Deb, the mortgage broker, provided some excellent guidance regarding Anikaโ€™s return-to-work options to fit banking policies.
With this in mind, we facilitated Luke and Anika placing an EOI on a land and build package in Nov 2021. The land was not due to register until Jan-Jun 2023.


In May 2022, we did a coaching session to sync and update everything. Anika was ๐Ÿคฐ pregnant and expecting their first child in Oct 2022. Luke had been successful in his service transfer, yet clarity on his first RAAF posting was still unknown.
