Guidance During The Busiest Time Of Our Lives
“Posting, a baby, selling a house… and two builds at once.” That’s what 22 years in the Army prepared them for—taking on big challenges. When Defence mates recommended Axon, they decided to see if it was too good to be true. It wasn’t. From feeling daunted to feeling supported every step of the way. Clear education. A different mindset. And the guidance they needed to make it all happen.
After 22 years in the Army, this serving ADF member began working with Axon in 2023 while preparing for a posting to Sydney. At the time, his family was selling their home, welcoming a new baby and looking for a way to do more with property. Following recommendations from trusted Defence colleagues, they completed two builds with Axon within a busy 12-month period. He shares how having a Defence-focused team explain the process, timelines and available support made an unfamiliar experience feel far less daunting. Rather than carrying all the risk alone, he found confidence in having an experienced team guiding his family throughout the journey.

I’m still serving and have now been in the Army for 22 years.
We started our journey with Axon in 2023 when we were preparing for a posting to Sydney and looking to sell our house. At the same time, we were also looking for an opportunity to do something more with property.
We’ve been fortunate enough to complete two builds with Axon, essentially at the same time. We were also having a baby, posting and selling a house, so it has been a very busy 12 months.
A couple of workmates I was serving with in Townsville had previously completed builds with Axon.
Receiving that recommendation from other Defence members was really valuable. They were in a similar position, had access to the same benefits and understood what Defence life was like.
We had never been through the building process before, and it can be very daunting.
Having someone clearly explain the entire process, the timelines and how everything worked was really helpful.
When you go through it alone, you are taking on all the risk yourself. Having a team behind you to guide and support you makes the entire process so much easier.
